Wet-on-wet - when the colors blend into each other like melted ice-cream and chocolate sauce. This really makes me happy!
Oil has so many possibilities, wet on wet being one of them. Normally I paint in many thin and smooth layers and let them dry before going over them again. But as well as I've become fond of combining realism and deconstruction, I like combining different techniques in one painting. Like the painting of a child with an icecream, where I've combined thin layers with a thick single-layered icecream which "sticks out" from the canvas. Hard to explain in writing, you need to see it in reality.
