Ceramics WIP

As you might have noticed if youve followed me for a while is that I love hands. Hands are considered to be "difficult" to paint and that scares people from even trying, which is so wrong!

Since I've started doing ceramics once a week I decided to begin on this hand-sculpture. I love making all the little folds and seeing the fingers take shape. I will need another session to finish it though. Working in 3D is so much more relaxing to me than painting.

Aaaand regarding the bowl from last week it is ready to get burnt.

How cute and cozy isn't this little house? That's where the magic happens :)

Today I've been to the annual meeting of the art association here, and now it is official - I'm going to be part of the board for one year forward :)

I'm very excited about this; glad to work with people of similar interests and I hope to be able to make a contribution to the group. <3

Vernissage Galleri Kvadraten

I brought my camera to today's vernissage to be able to snap some photos. I got so obsessed with capturing people watching art I didn't take any close-ups of my favorite artworks (like I use to do).

Nils Johannesson had made the most fascinating and futuristic sculptures, while Kurt Johansson had painted really colorful and playful landscapes in aquarelle.

The pictures will be published on other sites online too, here is just a brief selection. When the other photos have been uploaded I'll put up a link to them for you to see.

When I was about to take the portraits of the artists I actually had some luck getting hold of the head of the Photo Club and he helped me to snap some photos and to get the right adjustments on the camera. Thank you!! Above you see Kurt and below you have Nils.

I've been working with the photos all night; selecting the best ones - editing them - Ive emptied my Dropbox and uploaded them online - piuuuh!

Now it is bedtime already. I ran 12,5 K before too, so I'm well deserved of a good night's sleep :D

I went to my first ceramics class today and it was so much fun. I started on the bowl you see below. I want to do an animal print on it, or maybe paint it white.

I'm very eager to do some sculptures too. Next session will be in a week so let's see. :)

I've finally framed this print which I'll hang in my kitchen. I think the color scheme goes hand in hand with cooking and an Eco-environment.

Don't forget it is meat-free Monday today (I exchanged the chicken for quorn filets, they are so damn good I had to fry an extra one for dinner).

For me, there is a house amongst all the trees, but a family member thought it was a lake. What do you see?

I was considering buying a white passepartout, but I'm not sure it will be necessary. It looks kind of good as it is!

Just one layer/small fixes left on this one. It will have to dry first though. To be sure not to mess it up, Ill let it rest for 2 weeks before I finish it. Patience is key!

I'm into the mix between different textures, abstract art and realism.

My way of thinking

Everyday, I try to do something which leads me closer to my painting goals. Even the smallest thing counts, like writing that email, calling that person, painting even just a little, or as today when I ordered some painting material online. I bought new colors and oil paper from a new brand.

The important thing is that when I go to bed at night I feel like I've taken my ideas and goals seriously - otherwise they will just remain being dreams. I'm not always productive and get tons done but everyday I ask myself the question; am I one step closer than yesterday?

I've signed up for a ceramics course after hearing one of my friend talk very good about it. My main craft of course, is oil painting but I think it is good to learn different techniques and get inspiration from different fields. Ill keep you updated!

I haven't had time to paint any this weekend since Ive been taking care of the animals on the countryside. I have three paintings I have to go over with a third layer so there is really a lot of fun work awaiting me.
