If you wonder what I'm doing I'm patiently waiting for the recent layer of this one to dry so I can go over it again.
Love working with skin tones; faces, hands.. :)

"A teddy-bear latte" to go please :) What better to post a little latte art at breakfast time? The artist is Kazuki Yamamoto and the pictures are from here. Wonder how he makes the skimmed milk hold together like that? Below, a Dali with a twist. Want one of your own? Visit Cafe10g in Osaka, Japan where he serves these creations to the guests.
I've had problems uploading photos to the website today. Thought I'd check in and say hi anyways :)
I'll give it a new try to post some photos tomorrow! In my town, 'Swedens cupcake city', they have a cupcake party every year and they've also decorated one of the roundabouts with a huge cupcake. As I've shown before, here's an alternative version of a cupcake. I added the background afterwards, and its inspired by the same place as the cupcake statue is situated. No judging, may people eat what they feel like (I eat sweets too). What I do want is for people to reflect upon what they eat and why, and what the alternatives are. Took a 20min break on the balcony to read a little. It's about rhetoric, but you can also read about how you can use different colors strategically. The author writes about opposite colors and how Chiquita has chosen a blue label to make their bananas look even more yellow. The name of the book is Snacka snyggt and the author Elaine Eksvärd. Today I've been working on a pattern for one of my paintings. Wonder if anyone can figure out where it comes from :) Other inspiring patterns Ive come across (i wall papers in this case): To even be able to function in the morning I need my morning coffee and my porridge with fruit and eggs. Rainbow eggs from happy hens :) Right now I add some marmalade to the porridge too. The one to the right is from the west coast (a present) and the one to the left is from S&Ms blandade burkar and tastes like white chocolate and strawberries. When I follow my routines and eat regularly it makes wonders for my mood and I get so much more done through the day. I really have a hard time painting if I'm hungry! Without food I can't even concentrate and everything I paint gets sloppy and ugly. Continuing on the 'playing dead' theme in the pool. Adding to my collection of inspiring photos to paint! My ass looks huge (I wish)! The wonderful effect of water, reflections and angles. Another angle and another body. Amazing how different you can look! The object closest to the lens automatically looks bigger indeed. Anyways, away from the fascination of the camera and the human body. How wonderful isn't it when you put your head under water and all the noise become echoes in the distance. Your body feels light as a feather and the only thing that counts is that very moment you're in. Now that I have my printer, next thing to invest in will be a really good camera. I borrowed one in Madrid and I went with a couple of friends to the Retiro park to snap some photos. I think it was a Canon 600D, and the difference in quality compared to my compact camera is huge! It would also be great to have a really good camera to be able to snap art photos on my own. The resolution isn't good enough on a compact camera. I've heard from several sources that the best thing while shooting paintings is to use RAW format.
Too bad I'm not a landscape painter, but for those who are, here comes some inspiration! Love this picture, old knot & new knot: Old meets new 2. In the background youll see a typical Swedish red house with white details. Can it be much greener? I've noticed how blind you become for the beauty that lies right outside your own doorstep. When I had a visit here for my birthday, I took her to this place. I hadn't been making lots of advertising for my town before she arrived, thus her expectations were quite low. When she saw this place she couldn't understand why Id never mentioned the beauty of the city. So now I'm saying it, we have some really awesome locations here! I'll do my best to open my eyes and to appreciate the little things even more and I wish the same for you too :) |
