In Spain, the three wise men/kings come with the Christmas presents to the kids - not Santa Claus. To celebrate the arrival of the kings, they hold an event called Cabalgata in Madrid every year. The streets are filled with people and enthusiastic children and the whole procession starts with the guiding star. It is followed by cars, horses and performances of every kind and it ends with the kings reading a letter to the kids on a stage outside the old post house. Then there is fireworks of course.
Como hacer feliz a alguien/ how to make someone happy <3
The whole event lasted for hours and it was freezing cold outside, but totally worth it.
Firefighters of Madrid. They were throwing hard candy from all the cars, and it wasn't a pleasant experience at all, gosh how it hurt when they hit my head! Good thing they hit me and not the kids though, I played the part as a human shield haha :)
We were so lucky to be in the VIP section closest to the stage. Madrid's Mayer, Ana Botella, was there (the woman in red watching the parade).
This wagon looks like something out of a fairytale.
Melchor, Balthasar and Gaspar (embarrassing but I don't know who is who).
Now Christmas is definitely over and I've had such a great start of the new year. 2015 - you are welcome!
