As Salvador Dali said: don't be afraid of perfection, you'll never reach it.
There is something I've been thinking about for a while and that is to do even less realistic stuff, or to mix realism with areas of deconstruction. Like the deconstructed part with the football (can you see it?) below. Deconstruction gives me more freedom as a painter. I think I need it because I don't want to get stuck chasing perfection.
