Inkscape

I've never worked with photoshop and I am sure it is a good investment but some years ago I found inkscape, a free photo editing program! There are a lot of tutorials available on YouTube and that is how I learnt the basics.

I only make smaller adjustments like tilting, cutting and putting my name on the pictures. The heavy editing Ill leave for those who know about photos :)
