Travelling around I’ve come to meet a lot of interesting people. Some have become close friends, others brief acquaintances. Some forgotten, others might leave you with an impression or as in this case – a phrase.
Save your steps is the phrase from an American football player, a friend of a friend we went out with in Las Vegas last year. In this case “Save you steps” was used as an excuse to take a limo instead of walking, but in many occasions joking contains a bit of truth. The essence of it is that everyone has a limited amount of steps in their lives, so use them wisely. You can run a 100 miles but at the 101st you might get injured/done/finito. It is a balance to use your whole potential without trespassing that fine line. Especially since you don’t know on beforehand how many steps you have. There comes a point when you are not getting faster or stronger but only tearing your body down. Train effectively and save your steps for what matters! (or when you want to grab a cab without having bad conscience :))

This picture is from our hotel room in Vegas (Arias) before going out to the club Tao. Trying to imitate the way Asian girls pose :)
(In reality, this US trip was a lot about outdoor life and very little partying.)
