I decided to put on yet a light blue background layer on my latest painting. I have a plan for the background, there's a pattern I want to add, but first I want the underpainting to be solid.
When I have some paint leftovers I sometimes use them to make quick drawings, like these ones below.
No over analyzing, just some quick strokes with the brush. Sometimes it looks like a three year old could have done it better. Other times, the quick sketches are those who turn out real good. Maybe even better than the big canvas paintings.
Something you can ask yourself is: How do you determine if a sketch like this is good or bad?
Good or not, painting really is my happy pill and quick sketches without any pressure of making a "masterpiece" is a great way to disconnect and to disappear into the moment.
